Today each and every person is familiar with the word Coronavirus (COVID-19); and why they don’t be? This is the name of a dangerous virus that pushes our planet in public health crises. From December 2019 to March 2020, more than 120000 cases of corona cases have reported in 142 countries.
More than 8000 deaths have been accrued by corona and still, hundreds are surviving with this unusual health condition. At first, China was the origin of this virus but now UK is being infected a lot and limitless COVID-19) cases are being reported in it.
The main reason for its spreading is travelling people from one place to another. According to the science corona and Influenza (flu) are two heartbreaking health issues for a man.
Today we will let you know a lot of facts, symptoms, precautions, and similarities between Coronavirus (COVID-19) and Influenza (flu).
Similarities between coronavirus and Influenza:
Flu: Undoubtedly both flu (A-B) and coronaviruses are two types of transmittable viruses that could be a serious cause of respiratory shortness. Usually, flu symptoms are fever, cough, aching throat, muscle aches, headaches, runny or stuffy nose, and fatigue.
According to the CDC in rare cases, we may have a flu patient with vomiting and diarrhea also. These symptoms can come suddenly or slightly. The common age of flu is about one to two weeks; within 15 days a fluey person will recover easily, while a less number of people may diagnostic with pneumonia.
Every so often only 2% of flu patients hospitalized every year throughout the world. The main reason behind this situation is could be their negligence or the quick seasonal change.
Coronavirus: well I must say this virus is being a hard challenge for medical science. Doctors are still trying to find out a solution for COVID-19 but they are not getting a single chance of success.
According to the early reports coronavirus symptoms could be mild to severe; in which a patient may feel fever, cough, and shortness of breath. About 83 to 98% of hospitalized persons are suffering from fever, 76 to 82% of people with dry cough while, 11 to 44% of people are having fatigue or muscle aches.
Journal JAMA published in a report that headache, sore throat, abdominal pain, and diarrhea are also some chronic symptoms of coronavirus that have reported the world widely. On the other side, China CDC weekly confirmed that between a huge number of serious coronavirus cases were seemed with exhibited respiratory failure, multiple organ dysfunction/failure, and septic shock.
WHO (world health organization) declared that both of these are respiratory viruses having similar symptoms; this is why you cannot diagnose these symptoms by own. It would be better to test coronavirus by your nearer lab or test centre for further confirmation.
Coronavirus or flu which is worsted?
Despite quite similar symptoms still, there are few unknown facts that make coronavirus more dangerous than common flu or allergies.
Two world’s most famous doctors Dr. Daniel Kuritzkes, (chief of infectious diseases at Brigham and Women’s Hospital,) and Dr. Shira Doron, (infectious disease physician and epidemiologist at Tufts Medical Center) explained that corona and flu both spreads through respiratory dewdrops.
This passing system is very usual between one person to another, or from and object to a person. As corona can survive up to 12 hours without consuming food so, smelling/touching an animal or any object can make you seriously ill.
Well, coronavirus is under the supervision of highly experienced scientists and doctors. (WHO) team and a lot of other countries are struggling to find out the corona vaccination. By which they can easily overcome this deadly virus.
Anyways, flu or coronavirus whatever? Precautions are always better than cry. We must say thanks to the doctors then have been concluded with us few precautions against corona. These precautions are mainly designed on hygiene and less contact with infected people.
Like the common cold and flu, coronavirus spreads between one people to another through droplets when they sneeze or cough. The World Health Organization recommends the following precautions for coronavirus;
- Always keep your hands clean with a good quality hand wash or soap and water. In the case of travel and other emergency situation using hand-sanitizer will be good at all.
- Cover your mouth and nose while sneezing or coughing; for this purpose, you may flexes elbow or can cover up with a tissue. Once you complete throwing this tissue in the bin and let your hands wash again.
- Try to avoid close contact with sick people; especially those who have been suffering from fever and cough.
- The most important if you are not feeling well and having fever, cough, flu and short breathing then you should contact your closer health provider. “Especially, if recently you have travelled somewhere else”
- Do not go to crowded areas such as markets, cinemas, public parks, and others. When you go then avoid direct contact with other people and animals.
- Prefer homemade food and escape undercooked or raw animal products. Beware of using raw meat, wholesome milk, and other animal products.
- Avoid cold drinks, ice-creams and also cold water; try to prefer a fresh environment and avoid air-conditioned places.
All the above safety measures will keep you safe in any kind of cruel health situation anyways.
When will a coronavirus vaccine be ready?
Not only you and I but each and every person in this world wanted to know the answer to this serious question. Nevertheless, health researchers and medical science are still busy with having fundamental information about this deadly virus.
Unfortunately doing a lot of experiments on a daily basis still they are having a single chance of coronavirus vaccine readiness. Flu is totalling under treatable whereas corona is could be deadly for those who have low immune systems like children and old age people.
Doctors had overcome on flue by using few vaccines and antiviral medications but the corona is being a riddle for medical science. Within 7 to 14 days corona can make a person dead even after hospitalization.
From December 2019 to March 2020 Coronavirus is under hefty research and we all hoping for the best. Surely our scientists and medical researchers will overawe this fatal health issue through a vaccine.
